Child
advocacy has been an intregal part of Columbus Montessori since
it’s doors opened in 1984.
Champion
of Children Initiative
Columbus Montessori is the founder, sponsoring organization, model demonstration
site and fiscal agent of the Champion of Children Initiative. Champion of Children
is a public-private partnership between Columbus Montessori Education Center
and Franklin County Board of Commissioners that funds access to quality early
learning programs for children from lower income working families throughout
Franklin County. The annual Champion of Children Award Event recognizes one
local child advocate who has a substantial impact on children. The event raises
awareness of the need for quality early learning for all children and raises
capital to support the Champion of Children Initiative.
